Turn your Garmin GPS antennas
into a celestial array
Although the XM
(weather)
antenna is a ‘radio’ antenna, it doesn’t work like a transistor
radio. You can’t stick it in your pocket. It needs a clear view of
the sky -as does the other Garmin GPS antenna. Simply throwing it
atop the instrument console is bad news for two
reasons:
 |
Garmin-396 and
early -496 XM antennas have a half-pound of ferrous magnet in
its base. One foray into
turbulence will launch it into orbit. |
 |
Imagine
what a magnet that heavy can do to the sensitive instruments
that lie only an inch below the top of the instrument console. Yiikes! |
|
Good news
The
G-Force Antenna Farm moves
all your Garmin 396/496 antennas away from the instruments. At the
same time
it turns your Garmin 396/496 antennas into a celestial array!
Now you can organize that
jumble of wires and antennas on the G-Force Antenna Farm. Both GPS
and XM
antennas come together on a special-designed mounting plate. The
GPS antenna screws to the plate with existing hardware, or attaches
with a (small) magnet in its base. The XM antenna sticks to the same
plate with its built-in magnet, or with machine screws that come
included with your G-Force Antenna Farm.
It's a snap to
attach
At the
other end is the same vacuum base that powers the legendary G-Force
Mount. It's a snap to attach the Antenna Farm
to
any hard, smooth, non-porous surface. That includes glass, plastic,
and gelcoat. It's as easy as
1... 2...
3.
|
1 |
Set it against the
surface |
|
2 |
Press the button |
|
3 |
Flip the lever |
|
That's all it takes.
In mere seconds, you’ve turned your hand-held GPS into a heads-up
display.
And it comes off just as easy.
What's to know
The G-Force Antenna Farm accepts antennas made
or distributed by Garmin International with its GPS models -396 and
-496. Michel DuBil, Marketeer does not sell
replacement antennas. Antennas are not included with purchase.
Attachment hardware is included where appropriate. Ask about make and model applications by writing to
mail@G-ForceMount.com.
The G-Force Antenna
Farm will adhere to certain painted automobile panels. Paint
integrity varies among vehicles; that will determine the length of
attachment. Do not attempt this application without a lanyard.
Careful consideration should also be given to the possibility of
scratching the paint.
The G-Force Antenna
Farm has remained attached for years under laboratory conditions and
nearly that long in the field. However the magic of the Mount lies
in its portability. Remove it along with your portable GPS equipment
at the end of your event day. This will keep the vacuum seal
flexible and your valuable instrument safe. |
